Research Fellow

Millen Alley

Millen joined Jones Mandel in 2023, after graduating from NYU with a Master's degree in Politics. Throughout her degree, she focused on women's rights and gender in American politics, founding and serving as editor-in-chief for the zine Sex, Power & Politics. Her Master's thesis identified and analyzed anti-abortion narrative frameworks used in recent anti-abortion campaigns in the US. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and French and spent several months studying at Sciences Po in Paris, analyzing politics from an international perspective. Prior to joining Jones Mandel, she gained experience organizing for campaigns and working in communications for progressive nonprofits. In her free time, she enjoys reading and writing.
Evan Cook
Vice President

Evan Cook

Evan joined Jones Mandel during the 2018 election cycle. An experienced researcher, Evan has led self and opposition research projects for clients and campaigns doing political work in over a dozen states. Prior to entering political research, Evan graduated with a Master's Degree in Public Policy from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor's Degree in History from Gannon University. Evan is a native Ohioan, and currently lives on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. with his foxhound, Chloe.

Charlotte French

Charlotte joined Jones Mandel in 2022 after graduating from Lewis & Clark College with a passion for economic justice and a degree in Political Science. After graduation they joined their local political scene doing fundraising and donor research for progressive Oregon State Senator Kayse Jama, as well as managing a campaign on the Portland city auditor's race. Charlotte currently resides in Happy Valley, Oregon and enjoys making digital art, playing guitar, and curling up with a good book of poetry.
Eddie Ives

Eddie Ives

Eddie joined Jones Mandel in 2021 after graduating from Washington University in St. Louis with a degree in Political Science and Psychology. At Jones Mandel, Eddie has worked on gubernatorial, Senate, House, statewide, and state assembly races in Georgia, Arizona, Wisconsin, Michigan, Maryland, Washington, North Carolina, Colorado, Arkansas, and more. While at WashU, he was the director of communications for an environmental justice organization and conducted experimental research on eyewitness accuracy in criminal investigations. Born and raised in the Bay Area, Eddie now lives in Washington D.C.
Andrew Koch

Andrew Koch

Andrew joined Jones Mandel in 2021 after graduating from the University of Kansas with a degree in Political Science and a minor in Intelligence & National Security Studies. Prior to entering political research, Andrew volunteered for several Democratic campaigns and interned for U.S. Rep. Emanuel Cleaver II (MO-05) before becoming a Fellow in his office. Andrew currently resides near Kansas City, Missouri and loves to write music, watch Chiefs football, and play poker in his free time.

Jon Martinez

Jon graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in exercise science. While at UT, he got involved in Texas politics by phone banking for Beto O'Rourke's senate campaign. After graduating, they would go on to feed their passion for politics by working as a Harris County election clerk in 2020, helping make sure voters had a chance to participate in the democratic process. They would later join the Beto For Texas campaign as a field organizer in 2022, and then join Jones Mandel in 2023. A native Texas, he enjoys watching his Cowboys, going to the movies, and coaching youth soccer.

Olivia Roberts

Olivia will graduate in May with a Master's in Public Affairs From The University of Texas at Austin, specializing in domestic legislative strategy. Since her first democratic campaign in 2017, Olivia has worked in finance, policy, and management roles for campaigns in California, Florida, Indiana, and Illinois. She joined Jones Mandel in 2022 and has continued supporting Democrats at all levels through self and opposition research. In her spare time, Olivia likes to travel and spend time with friends.
Mahmud Bari
Senior Associate

Mahmud Bari

Hailing from Dhaka, Bangladesh, Mahmud is an ardent Buckeye, a proud graduate of The Ohio State University. Prior to joining Jones Mandel, Mahmud worked as a Field Organizer and Coordinator on various Democratic campaigns, from Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH), to the Ohio Democratic Party, to Mayor Andrew Ginther of Columbus. During his time at Jones Mandel, Mahmud has helped support Democratic candidates across all levels of government, as well as several private sector and nonprofit clients. Residing in Columbus, OH, in his free time, Mahmud can be found jamming to Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band or being terrorized by his two puppies, Cooper and May.
Chris Conrad
Senior Associate and Tech Development Coordinator

Chris Conrad

Chris joined Jones Mandel shortly after graduating from Haverford College with a degree in Political Science in December 2021. Prior to joining Jones Mandel and eventually rising to become a Senior Associate, he worked as a Fellow for the Kevin Baumlin campaign, Research Intern at the Post-Growth Institute, and Peer Tutor at the Haverford College Writing Center. Chris's academic research focused on recent social movements aiming to address climate change, and he has volunteered with progressive organizations focused on the climate. Chris currently lives in New York and is an award winning origami artist who also enjoys reading books and hiking in his free time.

Selina Gavin

Selina joined Jones Mandel in 2023. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Central Florida. She previously worked in the non-profit sector, and also has experience in private equity and sales. Selina currently lives in Northern Virginia with her husband and 3 children.

Benjamin Jones

Benjamin fell in love with the energy, excitement and passion of campaign politics during the successful re-election of his home state Governor, Zell Miller. Since then, he has steadily worked in several capacities and built three consulting firms over 28 years. His wide-ranging professional experience includes: political consulting, crisis communications research, issue management, competitive intelligence for corporations, non-profits and issue groups. At Jones Mandel, Ben is driven by building a successful company, mentoring staff, building great teams, working with clients, solving problems and managing JM's Fellowship program. Ben has a masters degree from George Washington University and lives in Seattle with his wife, 3 kids and dog Mudd. When not working, you will find Ben with his family at an event for one of his kids, walking the dog, at the gym, reading and attempting some new outdoor activity with patient friends and family.

Erick Lopez

Erick started at Jones Mandel in early 2022 and, since then, he has provided critical research support to gubernatorial, congressional, and local campaigns across the country. Prior to joining Jones Mandel, Erick worked in education working directly with students in K-12 classrooms and he was also involved in education research. A graduate of the University of California at Davis, he studied political science with an emphasis in public service. He currently lives in his native California.

Elizabeth Nadler

Elizabeth jumped into politics during Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign, organizing and registering voters across Durham County, North Carolina. Since starting at Jones Mandel, Elizabeth has worked on presidential, House, Senate and gubernatorial races in states including New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Texas, Louisiana, Arizona, Michigan, Ohio and Colorado. She is a proud Jersey knucklehead, but currently lives in Los Angeles with her husband, dog, and feline terror.
Lindsay Steinberg
Director

Lindsay Steinberg

Lindsay joined Jones Mandel in 2020 and has worked on self and opposition research projects to help elect Democrats running in key federal and statewide races across the country. She got her start in research in the nonprofit sector, working with several D.C.-based organizations focused on climate advocacy and animal welfare. Lindsay is originally from Pennsylvania and recently moved to Northern Virginia. In her free time, she loves running, going to concerts, and trying new soup recipes.

Grace Bray

Grace joined Jones Mandel in 2022 after graduating from the George Washington University with a degree in International Affairs. Grace's interest in politics was sparked by the growing environmental movement to combat climate change. Before joining the field of political research, Grace interned at enviornmental organizations and worked to advance environmental research and education. Since starting at Jones Mandel, Grace has worked on local, mayoral and gubernatorial campaigns in Illinois, Pennsylvania and Maryland. Originally from Georgia, Grace currently lives in New York and enjoys reading, listening to music and going for walks in her free time.

Lillian Feist

Lillian first got involved in politics in elementary school when she volunteered to help get out the vote for Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign. After graduating from Haverford College with a degree in Political Science, she worked as a paralegal at Kirkland & Ellis before returning to her passion for progressive politics. Lillian spent the 2022 campaign cycle at Wildfire Mail and joined Jones Mandel in 2023. She currently lives in northern Virginia, and she spends her free time trying new recipes and hosting board game nights with her friends.
Taylor Holst
Director

Taylor Holst

Taylor's earliest memory of politics dates all the way back to 2008, when she got in trouble with her 5th grade teacher for talking too much about the presidential election in class and telling the other kids she thought Obama "seemed nice." Since then, she hasn't looked back. After starting at Jones Mandel in 2020, Taylor has worked on mayoral, gubernatorial, House and Senate campaigns across the country, including working on key races in Illinois, North Carolina, Florida, Maryland and Oklahoma during the 2022 election cycle. While North Carolina and her beloved Canes will always be home, she now lives in Brooklyn and loves to play video games or Dungeons and Dragons with her friends in her free time.
Henry Kapp

Henry Kapp

Henry started working in politics on Jay Gonzalez's campaign for governor of Massachusetts. He later joined the Jones Mandel team to conduct research that would help elect Democrats up and down the ballot. In his two cycles with Jones Mandel, Henry has supported gubernatorial and Senate campaigns in Missouri, Wisconsin and Vermont, among other states. He also has substantial experience managing FOIA and state public record programs on Republican candidates nationwide. Henry originally hails from Massachusetts and currently lives in DC.
Ian Mandel

Ian Mandel

Ian is a highly sought-after research strategist who works with Democratic candidates and private sector clients. He has advised campaigns in 40 states, helping elect dozens of candidates, including over 20 U.S. senators and governors. Ian is also the longtime research consultant for the Democratic National Committee, overseeing the Democratic Party’s public record research. His private sector clients range from publicly-traded automobile companies, to health care companies, to private investors. Ian got his start in the research department at EMILY’s List and did a stint on Capitol Hill as a legislative aide and press secretary. He is a die hard fan of the 2019 World Series Champion Washington Nationals, the four-time Super Bowl Champion New York Giants, and the ever-frustrating New York Knicks. Ian lives in Alexandria, Virginia, and spends his spare with his wife trying to keep up with their three young children.
Research Fellow

Esther Oh

Esther joined Jones Mandel in 2023 after having previously worked as a field researcher with the Maryland Democratic Party during the 2022 midterms. Prior to that, she worked as a White House producer for one of Asia's largest news networks, covering both the Trump and Biden administrations. Originally from California, she spent eight years living and working in the media and communications field in South Korea. Esther graduated with a Master's Degree from Columbia University and a Bachelor's Degree from University of California, Irvine. She currently resides in Northern Virginia.
Research Fellow

Liam Thompson

Liam joined Jones Mandel in 2023, after graduating from Vanderbilt University. At school, Liam majored in public policy studies and minored in history, data science, and Korean. At school, they wrote for the Vanderbilt Political Review and learned to use quantitative analysis to make informed policy and political decisions. Before joining Jones Mandel, they interned at the Environmental Protection Agency and in government affairs for a globally renowned fintech company. Liam currently resides in Northern Virginia where they like to read and watch movies in their spare time.
